1. What is the IVT Allergy™ Screen? Answer: “A diagnostic enzyme immunoassay for the determination of allergen specific IgE antibody in human serum or plasma.”
2. What are the components of the test? Answer:
· 5 – Multiple immunoassay panels
· 1 – 4 ml vial of conjugate
· 5 – 2.5 ml vials of substrate/indicator
· 1 – 55 ml bottle of wash solution
· 5 – 1 cc syringes
· 5 – Plastic beaker cups
3. What does the IVT Allergy™ Reader Enhanced System include? Answer: “The system includes software and a reader that develops semiquantitative test results.
4. What is the sample size? Answer: “0.7 ml of serum or plasma for each panel. “
5. How long does it take to perform the IVT Allergy™ Screen? Answer : “5.5 total hours.”
6. How much Lab-Technician “hands-on” time is required? Answer: “5 minutes for each panel tested.”
7. What are the IVT Allergy™ Screen’s Performance Characteristics? Answer: The overall performance of the IVT Allergy™ Screen test has been evaluated by comparison to RAST with a Sensitivity of >90 and a Specificity of >88%.
8. Is the IVT Allergy™ Screen test CE marked? Answer: “Yes”
9. Can you briefly describe the IVT Allergy™ Screen Panels? Answer: “The unique panel consists of a capillary tube containing a series of plastic segments. On the surface of the plastic segments are insolubilized single allergens or mixes of allergens or monoclonal antibody for immune complexing of IgE in the patient sample.”
10. Is the IVT Allergy™ Reader Enhanced System sold directly to Physicians, Hospital or labs? Answer: “The system is sold through distributors that are qualified to provide customer support and training.”
